Connecticut 3-on-3 Winter Indoor Lacrosse League

Welcome! We believe that we have put together the most effective, developmentally-sound youth winter lacrosse program available! Our
3-on-3 indoor lacrosse league, coupled with our optional 10-week Instructional Program (led by the area's top collegiate lacrosse coaches) deliver a skills development model unlike any other. Our student-athletes compete in many winter sports so our lacrosse program is designed to pack a ton of gameplay and instruction into a very manageable 2-hour per week commitment. The 3-on-3 game format of our winter league guarantees intense player involvement, especially with only six players on a team that results in a fun and productive lacrosse experience! Please read on for more details about our exciting new 3-on-3 Winter Indoor League and the Instructional Skills Development Program.

2012 Season Registration Information & Packet Click Here.

The Connecticut Winter Indoor Lacrosse League is a unique opportunity for our young lacrosse players as well as their coaches to work on developing important fundamentals, both individually and collectively as a team.  The format of the game is full equipment, three (3) players versus three (3) players (NO GOALIES) allowing for much more player-specific coaching and ultimately, player development.  We believe this is the single most effective game format for youth player development (both offensive and defensive) because each player is intensely involved in game play every second they are on the field!  See our “Winter Lacrosse Rules” for the specific policies and rules of our League.

The Winter Lacrosse Season will consist of six (6) weeks of development including:

- One Day Skills Clinic with Yale lacrosse coaching staff
- One week of jamboree-style preseason scrimmages
- Four weeks of regular season games
- One week of “round-robin” playoffs (every team participates)
- Optional: 10-week Instructional Program***

All scrimmages and games will be played on Saturdays, January 7th – February 11th at The Connecticut Sports Center, 21 South Bradley Rd, Woodbridge, CT between the hours of 1 - 5pm.  The cost of the Winter Lacrosse League is $240 per player.  Each player will receive a custom lacrosse team uniform.

Divisions
Bantam (Grades: 3rd and under)
Lightning (Grades: 4th & 5th)
Juniors  (Grades 6th & 7th)

Our League is grade-based.  Players may “play up” a division if their coaches and parents desire but players may not “play down” a division under any circumstances.  Divisions are subject to change based on participation.  Teams must consist of 6 players (maximum of 8 players).  The Connecticut Speed School will do our best to assist in the placement of individual players. However we strongly suggest individuals do their best to find a team on their own.

***OPTIONAL INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM***
All players in our League will have the opportunity to enroll in a 10-week instructional program with college coaches from the area at a bargain price! The 10-session program will cost $100 and will be held at the Steve Hine Sports Academy in Milford, CT. Class size will be capped at 20 players to ensure an effective player-to-coach ratio. Sessions will begin the first week of December and run for ten consecutive weeks. Days and times to be determined based on player availability. From initial responses it appears that the most convenient time block is weekday after-school hours from 3:30-5:30pm. Each player is automatically eligible to participate in the Instructional Program once their Winter League registration is completed and confirmed. Players not registered in our League may participate in our Instructional Program for $200.

Skill development is our goal and we believe this is the most effective format....six-weeks of 3-on-3 game play (with only 6 players per team!!), coupled with 10-weeks of instruction (class size limited to 20 players!) offered by some of the most knowledgeable collegiate lacrosse coaches in the State.
