Our passing league will consist of a 6th-, 7th- & 8th-grade division. Games will be played on Sundays at the Sports Zone in Trumbull between 5-7pm. For more information about our 2012 Winter 7-vs-7 Passing League and to register please Click Here. 7-vs-7 Passing League Rules and Format of Play Click Here ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- History The 6-man vs 6-man format creates a "fast" game where players quickly learn to develop and execute their skills (blocking, tackling, getting off blocks, running etc) in space. The "coachability" is outstanding because now coaches only have 6 players on the field at any given time and one coach is allowed on the field with his players throughout the entire game (2 coaches per team are allowed on the field with our younger divisions). Teams of atleast 10 players is required. 12 is the right number. More than 12 players, coaches may struggle to get each player ample playing time and fewer than 12 may create challenges with practice, illness, substitutions etc. To all youth football coaches and parents of young players: As parents and coaches of young athletes we sincerely believe in this format and think young players are missing the boat if they are not playing winter football. The time commitment is limited allowing players to continue to participate with their traditional winter sports teams & leagues, like basketball and wrestling. In fact, the majority of our winter football players particpate in the traditional winter sports. Our games are played at an indoor facility conveniently located at The Sports Zone in Trumbull, CT. Games last 1 hour (plenty of time in this format) and most teams practice once per week for 60-90 minutes in their local area. We learned from last year that many cities/ towns require team insurance policies to use their facilities for practice. As a result, we are working with an insurance provider to provide coverage for any team requiring a policy at a very reasonable rate. Please contact us to discuss participating in our upcoming 2012 Winter Football Season. More information on our 2012 Season will be posted here as they become available. We are commited to delivering the best product we can for our players, coaches & parents!
